There were 8 across-genres categories of this first music award, in which the nominations and winners were determined internally with distinct indicators including total streams (such as Spotify, Apple Music), downloads (iTunes & Amazon Music), the use of sounds (on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook & Instagram), which then was curated from the editorial team perspectives.
Here are the song titles and the winner names of the Netrilis Awards 2023:
The song Arunika by Call Me Monstr is a fresh and unique piece that showcases the beauty of music beyond mere lyrics. It blends alternative rock and cinematic elements to create an emotional experience that inspires listeners. The fact that it is difficult to create minimal lyrics that evoke emotions only adds to the beauty of this song.
Introducing Hari Untuk Dia, the latest single from The Koakoa, a new band from Mataram. The song features a combination of punk and post-rock sounds that create an energetic beat that is sure to make listeners' day more exciting. The lyrics also carry a positive message to boost our mood. This song is a great way for younger listeners to discover new music. Well, the term “lazy” indeed can be interpreted by the forerunner to their songwriting "Sendiri Menikmatimu", "Jarak", "Cinta Kembang Api" and the other songs of Gie’s masterpieces. You can try to listen to the details in the track entitled “Kamar Malas” with the same album title.
#DidYouKnow, Gie’s genre was Jazz in their early journey. They even already had three wonderful songs, but they did not release those songs to the public. Then in 2013, they changed their direction to Blues, and it lasts until today. Gie once released EP "Kopi Blues" physically and got it bundled with kopi bubuk (coffee powder; which has a literal meaning with the album’s title). Their music is often said to have the same type as Ipang Lazuardi’s Soundtrack version, and it turns out that there is indeed a Gie song featuring Dede Kumala, the guitarist and music producer of Ipang Lazuardi.
Gie first launched their music to the public in 2015, which was "Kopi Blues". Until 2023, Gie has released 12 songs, including Singles, EP, Album, and Versions in which some of the songs were released in CDs, and the digital version is distributed in collaboration with Netrilis. You can check the complete Discography on their Spotify Profile:
Gie's new single doesn't preach about how to be sad. Instead, this well-known band from Yogyakarta reminds their listeners that there is always space for the worst situation anyone might face. The band captures this reality in their down-to-earth lyrics. The concept of Harta Tahta Wanita has been around since 2014 and is now available to all listeners. This country rock song will brighten up your gloomy day, for sure.
Summer Flow is the new single from Noise Syndicate we bring to you. The song has a unique and catchy blend of cha-cha, R&B and hip-hop music that is perfect for young listeners. The lyrics are soft and amusing, without any bad language, and the tight and fascinating rhymes make it a great addition to any Indonesian hip-hop or R&B playlist to boost up your day. Overall, it's an amazing song that deserves a WOW from everyone who listens to it.
